The
Content Development Committee is comprised of experts in
facilitated learning and each has content expertise in clinical
medicine related to one of the forms of cancer that a subject
matter for the cases. This
group focuses on developing problem-based teaching cases to
complement the 12 existing multi-station Objective Structured
Clinical Examinations. These
Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning materials address a set of core competencies
pertaining to cancer prevention, detection and control.
The cases are written to assist students in
developing problem solving skills and clinical reasoning by having
exposure to situations that closely simulate real-life scenarios
that the physician would encounter. Through these cases,
undergraduate medical students are offered the opportunity to
learn the knowledge necessary to becoming effective cancer
prevention, detection and control agents in the primary care
setting.
