Dissemination &
Educational Media
The CATCHUM Project
proposed to implement various learning activities and to expand the potential for
cross-sharing of instructional materials and learning resources to a medical student
generation for whom computers and the Internet are as familiar as radio and TV for older
generations. With that in mind, the CATCHUM Project considers the Internet as a tool for
dissemination of critical elements of its work. In August 1995, planning and development
began for the CATCHUM Homepage. The original design included eight components - the index
page, guest book, the CATCHUM monograph, steering committee information, staff
information, an events calendar, the Standardized Assessment Examinations in three
versions, and a cancer links page. This configuration was pilot tested by the end of
September, 1995.
